Bummer

My sub to Crossed Genres (sent mid August) never arrived, but I didn't find out until I queried it at the right time. The themed issue I sent it for has already been filled, though they helpfully suggest sending it again in December as the theme seems like a good fit. So I turned it round and sent it out to Neo-Opsis in the meantime.

Oh, what a pain. I hope it does well with Neo-Opsis.
Well, I'm working on the principle that any story I have finished is better off sitting in someone's in-try rather than on my hard drive, un-subbed. Not sure how ling I can keep it up for before I fall back into bad habits. A few sales might help to keep me motivated, but I haven't sold anything since June.
Fingers crossed for a new sale soon.
Thanks. I've had dry spells before, but to be honest I'm not writing many shorts right now, so I'm only marketing whatever's already in the can. I'm mostly working on the novels
Good choice! Neo-opsis is a neatly produced, reliable and long-running semi-pro. Fair warning though: you can wait a long time for a decision if your submission makes it through their first filter. (I'm not too far off one year!)
Thanks for the headsup, Vaughan. I might query it if I haven't heard before the deadline period for that issue of Crossed Genres. I've got two months before i need to worry about it. If they keep it longer than that it might be in with a chance anyway.
Problems posting so sorry if this arrives twice.
Irritating- but I am in awe of your efficiency and pro active approach. It is bound to get results. Good luck!
You'll all be the first to hear if it does. :-)
